How to Add a Person to Your Micro Lab Site
Follow these steps to add people to your Micro Lab website using the “People” content type in Drupal 10.
Step 1: Start a New Person Entry
- Go to the Content tab in your Drupal admin menu.
Click “Add content”, then select “Person.”
Step 2: For UCSF Person
If the person has a UCSF Profiles page:
- Enter their UCSF email address in the designated field.
- Click the Submit button.
- Most fields will auto-fill using UCSF Profiles data.
Required Fields:
People Category – Choose a category that fits their role (e.g., Faculty, Staff, Student).
- First Name, Last Name, Display Name – Ensures correct alphabetical sorting on the People page.
Optional Edits:
- Review and update any pre-filled fields.
- Profile Headshot – Upload a custom photo (Recommended size: 500x500 pixels).
- Fill in or update any additional fields you want displayed.
Step 3: For Non-UCSF Person
If the person is not associated with UCSF:
- Check the box labeled “Not a UCSF Person.”
- Enter the full name as you want it to appear (e.g., John Smith, PhD).
- Manually fill in the required fields to ensure proper alphabetical sorting:
- People Category
- First Name
- Last Name
- Display Name
- Upload a headshot (Recommended size: 500x500 pixels).
- Complete any other relevant fields.
Final Step: Save
Once all required and optional information is filled out:
- Check “Publish.”
- Click Save.
